PC Death
Good day interweb people
I have some sad news. Due to my PC dying a slow painful death, posts might be a bit few and far in between until I can get a new one (which is hopefully soon) as I don't want to do taxing work on the now 6 year old machine in fear of it kicking the bucket even faster...
If there is any work for a poor starving photographer out there, give a guy a bone. Me being that guy...
I'll be back soon. Promise!

Bands: Bittereinder
As I promised, here are some snaps of "Bittereinder" doing their thing at "Die Skim Grot".
Here's a short excerpt from their Facebook page: It seems that the unpredictable city of Pretoria is responsible for much greater controversy and magic realism in recent years than many citizens of the world might have guessed. Take Bittereinder for instance. Three relatively good-looking young Pretorian men who have unimaginably overcome their respective quarter-life crises to produce a series of works that verges on the magnificent and borders on being inexcusably ridiculous. Read more on their Facebook page.
Now as many of you may or may not know, I'm not a huge fan of the Afrikaans music scene and much less of rap music. Don't get me wrong, I love my language I just don't like hearing it in my music, BUT I have to admit I was quite pleasantly surprised by Bittereinder. They mixed two things I don't really like (Rap and singing in Afrikaans) and on a number of occasions it got my foot tapping and head bobbing during their set.
It's honest and well thought out music that anyone can appreciate. In a market so over saturated with Afrikaans bands trying to sound like one another this is a welcome change and very refreshing.
Welgedaan ouens!

Behind the Scenes
So last week Friday I helped a super talented lady woman out with some shoots she had to do for class.
Meet Nicole Olwagen. Well, sort of.
She's more of a behind the camera than in front of it kinda person :) These are just some random snaps I took as the day progressed.
Oh and do yourselves a favor. Go check out her blog, "beyond the clouds" here.

For some odd reason I like taking pictures of reflections, whether it be in a mirror or a window. Why, I dunno, but I kinda like it. Ninon smoking |
Die Skim Grot (Part. 2)
As I promised here are some more snaps of "Die Skim Grot Saterdag".
I'll soon follow this up with some snaps of "Bittereinder" (I did post one of the photos as a sneak peak). Who are they you may ask? They're an "Afrikaans Rap" outfit from Pretoria, but more on that when the time comes.
Enjoy

Bands: The Ocean Doesn't Want Me
They have got to be one of my favorite bands in the world. Not only are they the raddest, most down to earth bunch of guys, they make some of the most beautiful music and I love photographing them so expect to see some more shots of them up here in the months to follow.
If you're not doing anything tonight, come to Black Dahlia in Boksburg where they'll be playing along with Hokum, Bile of Man and All Forlorn. Here's the event page.
Enjoy

Meet Mynhardt
Wow!!
Two posts in two days! Impressive, if I do say so myself. This is just a filler while I edit photos and get things ready for future posts. So without further ado, meet Mynhardt.
The two of us are starting a little musical project and last night was our first little jam together. Here are two random snaps.

Die Skim Grot (Part. 1)
So, it's a new month and thus I figured it'd be a good time to start a new blog documenting my photography.
I however have taken a lot of photos over the past three years, which means I have some catching up to do and that's going to take some work.
This is just a little introduction, nothing fancy, just some snaps from a fun event I went to this past Saturday, called "Die Skim Grot Saterdag". Check out their Facebook page for info here. There will be more photos from the event to follow soon and then some back-tracking through some older photographs.
Enjoy
